Heat treatment
This is a process which changes the characteristics of the metal by heating the metal and changing the cooling conditions.
Hardening/ tempering | Improvement of toughness and wear resistance of steel |
Solution treatment | Improvement of corrosion resistance, thermal resistance, toughness and ductility of stainless steel |
Surface treatment
Thermal treatment that does not change inside of the metal material but only changes the characteristics of the surface of the metal
Carbonizing | Wear resistance improves on the surface of the steel keeping the toughness inside. |
Nitriding | The surface hardness of the steel is improved. Thermal changes are reduced. |
